Athletes Foot / Tinea Pedis
Athlete’s foot, also know as Tinea, is a common fungal infection that affects the skin on your feet. It thrives in warm, moist, dark conditions and usually occurs around or between the toes, and/or in the arches of the feet, but it can occur anywhere on the feet.
Typical signs include redness, itching, moist skin between the toes, blistering and bleeding cracks. It is very unlikely to clear up without treatment.
Your podiatrist can recommend topical antifungal creams (available over the counter at a chemist) and give advice on how to prevent recurrence of the infection.
